In late 2003/Early 2004, Christian & Son dismantled and restored the Bescanson family barn. The barn was re-erected with a custom Douglas Fir timber frame floor system, and opened to the public as the Amish Furniture Outlet on the grounds of The Barn restaurant in Smithville, OH. The project required extensive repairs to the barn structure, which had suffered severe structural damage over it's life span. The photos below illustrate the beauty of the retail space that was created, giving the shopping experience a feel unattainable from a modern structure.
