Project Overview

In late 2003, the Bescanson family barn was slated for demolition. Commercial expansion was overtaking farm land, and the barn had been out of service for some years. A local business owner took an interest in the structure, and with our help was able to not only save the barn, but rebuild it as a beautiful retail space.

Completed Space

Open, warm, and accommodating, the restored barn provides a unique retail experience. The solid Hickory floors mesh perfectly with the historic hardwood timbers. Carefully cleaned by light pressure washing, the patina of the historic timbers was preserved as much as possible, while creating clean surfaces. Customers enter from the ground floor level, into a fully finished basement space with modern heavy timber-framed ceiling. Walking up a large central staircase, they emerge into the center of the massive open display floor.
