Christian & Son, Inc. has been in the timber framing business for over a quarter of a century. As a tightly knit family owned and operated business, we have had great opportunity to focus our efforts on continuing research and education in the field.
Our focus now centers on preservation and restoration efforts of all historic wooden buildings, with a specialty in heavy timber structures.
The company was started by my father, Rudy R. Christian and grandfather Andrew Christian in a two car garage in 1982. I have fond memories of playing in the sawdust under the timber horses as joinery was carefully cut above me with chisels and hand saws.
From those humble beginnings many things have changed, and many more have not. We no longer operate from a garage, but we still use many of the same tools. We are now a full service firm capable of project management, design, engineering, on site and in-shop repairs, replacements and fabrication. Our capabilities range from fully hand hewn reproduction buildings, to window trim and repairs, to disassembly, repair, and relocation of existing structures.
